The Director of Technology is responsible for overseeing the organization’s technology strategy, development initiatives, systems infrastructure, and technical operations. This leadership role provides direction across software development, system architecture, technical innovation, security, and operational technology support while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long-term growth initiatives.

The Director of Technology works closely with executive leadership, operations, product teams, and developers to drive scalable solutions, improve system efficiency, support innovation, and maintain secure, high-performing technology environments. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple cross-functional initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a proactive technology leader with strong problem-solving skills, development knowledge, operational awareness, and the ability to lead teams and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the organization’s overall technology strategy and roadmap

  • Align technology initiatives with operational, product, and business objectives

  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, systems, and infrastructure improvements

  • Lead long-term planning for scalability, performance, and system reliability

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on technology-related initiatives and decisions

  • Oversee front-end and back-end development initiatives across platforms and applications

  • Support development teams with architecture planning, technical direction, and best practices

  • Ensure software solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business needs

  • Assist in prioritizing development initiatives, timelines, and resource allocation

  • Review and improve development workflows, coding standards, and deployment processes

  • Oversee organizational systems, integrations, databases, hosting environments, and technical infrastructure

  • Ensure technology systems maintain high availability, reliability, and performance

  • Manage system upgrades, integrations, troubleshooting, and technical optimization initiatives

  • Support disaster recovery, backup procedures, and business continuity planning

  • Help maintain organizational technology security standards and risk management practices

  • Ensure systems and processes align with applicable compliance and data protection requirements

  • Identify vulnerabilities and implement safeguards to reduce operational and security risks

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in software development, systems management, or technology leadership roles

  • Strong understanding of full stack development, system architecture, and infrastructure management

  • Experience leading technical teams and managing cross-functional technology initiatives

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership abilities

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Technical Skills

  • BS in IT, CS or related field

  • Front-end and back-end development frameworks and technologies

  • Cloud infrastructure and hosting environments

  • Database architecture and management

  • API development and system integrations

  • Security and compliance best practices

  • DevOps, CI/CD, and deployment workflows

  • Project management and workflow management systems

  • Healthcare technology or revenue cycle management industry experience preferred but not required
