Job Description Summary The Director tax operations is a key contributor and leader in the corporate tax organization of Quaker Houghton responsible for all aspects of income tax accounting financial reporting of tax matters and the application of ASC 740 for this acquisitive and publicly owned multinational corporation. This position will develop collaborative working relationships with the tax team and across the Company serving as a liaison with other key business group leaders. Responsibilities include the preparationreview of financial statement accounts and footnote disclosures ensuring full compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley SOX requirements assessing uncertain tax positions and managing externalinternal auditor expectations. The position will assist and support all areas of the global tax function including tax compliance SOX controls and ongoing auditadvocacy management as well as collaborating with other team members in the areas of research planning and strategy and assisting with communications to senior leadership and our Audit Committee. This position will report directly to the Vice President Global Tax and will be based in our corporate headquarters in Conshohocken PA. Job Description Manage the annual and quarterly worldwide income tax provision process including the effective tax rate deferred tax calculations taxes payable uncertain tax positions tax account reconciliations valuation allowance determinations journal entries and other supporting schedules. Responsible for review of non-US income tax provision balances in including both the current and deferred tax account balances of our foreign subsidiaries are accurately stated and properly classified through quarterly and annual review and validation of their income tax reporting and resolution of income tax accounting issues as well as coordinated training ifwhere needed. Prepare andor review the consolidated income tax provision including preparation of the tax footnote disclosures to be included in the Company&39s SEC filings Forms 10-Q and 10-K and other tax related disclosures as well as Audit Committee materials. Manage SOX internal controls compliance and reporting in the area of income tax accounting including design documentation and execution of new tax controls as needed. Review and oversee the measurement of and accounting for uncertain tax positions the determination of the Company s APB 23 assertion and the determination of any valuation allowances and the realizability of deferred tax assets. Co-Lead coordinate and support global tax compliance for Company&39s multi-national structure including both US and Non-US tax filings Provide tax accounting support and collaborate with the team s management and accounting for intellectual property internal restructurings and other transactions as applicable. Research and analyze complex tax issues and transactions including new pronouncements by timely assessing the income tax and accounting impact and communicating such to senior management. Collaborate with finance treasury legal human resource and other functional teams e.g. to align data flow requirements that effectively meet global reporting and compliance requirements. Drive design and implementation of tax technology tools and data management solutions to automate and reduce risk in the global tax function. Support the income tax budgeting and forecast process including global cash tax forecast reporting. Collaborate with the Vice President Global Tax to identify opportunities to optimize the Company s tax position while effectively managing risk. Participate in tax planning for example in connection with acquisitions divestitures and restructurings including due diligence design and implementation of structuring financing and post-merger integrationrationalization. Provide technical support for research and planning activities and assess the impact of business restructuring activities on our tax position. Lead andor support special projects and support others on the tax team. Develop and mentor staff and managers. Manage co-sourcing and outsourcing arrangements with our external service providers and manage relationships with internalexternal auditors.
