About the Role
We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Tax to lead our company’s tax compliance, tax reporting, planning, and income tax accounting functions. This highly visible role partners closely with business leaders, financial management, and external service providers to ensure accurate reporting, mitigate risk, and drive value through proactive tax strategy.

Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do
- Lead the corporate year‑end and quarterly close process for income taxes (ASC 740), including ASC 740‑10‑25 (formerly FIN 48) documentation and analysis.
- Prepare and/or review all tax disclosures in SEC filings and external reports.
- Review federal, state, local, and partnership tax returns.
- Oversee estimated tax payments.
- Monitor evolving tax legislation and assess its impact on the organization.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for tax team members.
- Develop tax strategy, goals, and long-term objectives for the tax function; maintain related policies and procedures.
- Build strong working relationships across Finance and other departments to support accurate tax reporting and execution of tax strategies.
- Identify tax risk areas and collaborate with cross-functional partners to mitigate exposure.
- Support the Vice President of Tax and Accounting Projects & Planning on planning initiatives and ad hoc projects.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a public accounting firm.
- Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and data analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline-driven environment.
- A hands-on approach with a proven track record of success in collaborative, team-based settings.
- Deep understanding of the business implications of tax strategies and decisions.
- Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to inspire credibility, enthusiasm, and commitment.
- Advanced tax research capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business Taxation.
- JD and/or CPA.
