Join this full-service, Level IV Trauma Center as the Director of Surgical Services and lead the surgical team through unprecedented growth into and beyond 2025!

We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to provide leadership to a growing department. Reporting to a forward-thinking Chief Nursing Officer. This role is responsible for staff oversight, budget management, regulatory compliance (DNV, OSHA, etc.), and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. You will mentor teams, optimize departmental operations, and contribute clinical expertise within a multidisciplinary environment. This is a strategic leadership role ideal for a hands-on RN leader ready to make an immediate impact.

Surgical Services Department Stats:

• Direct Reports: 6 including 2 nursing supervisors.
• 100+ surgical cases monthly of: Ortho, General, Endoscopy, gastrointestinal and Pain
• 10-15 ortho procedures a month
• Pain clinic – stimulators.

Position Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), required. Master’s degree, preferred.
• 3-5+ years of clinical nursing experience in Surgical Services, required.
• 3-5+ years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care facility managing a team, required.
• Current state Nursing license, required.
• Recent experience working in a rural, critical access hospital, strongly preferred.
• Must be able to be hands on and circulate as needed.
