Director of Surgical Services (RN) – Montana
Salary: $125,000 – $165,000
Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 (reimbursed with receipts, taxable)

I am partnering with a respected 150-bed acute care hospital in Montana to identify an experienced Director of Surgical Services. Position Overview
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of the department. This individual will oversee clinical operations, staff development, quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, financial management, and patient experience while ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and direction for Surgical Services operations
- Developing and implementing departmental goals, objectives, and performance standards
- Ensuring excellence in patient care delivery and clinical outcomes
- Managing staffing, recruitment, retention, employee development, and performance evaluations
- Overseeing departmental budgets and ensuring responsible fiscal management
- Monitoring quality metrics, patient satisfaction, and service performance
- Leading regulatory readiness efforts and coordinating internal and external audits
- Collaborating with physicians, hospital leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to improve operational effectiveness and patient outcomes
- Driving continuous process improvement initiatives throughout the department
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- BLS certification required upon hire
- ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire
- Minimum of five years of Surgical Services nursing experience
- Previous Director-level leadership experience within Surgical Services required
