This SUA employee performs professional level work that is non-instructional and administrative in nature in higher education. This incumbent is responsible for the coordination and implementation of social, cultural, and developmental activities and special events for the university with the goal to improve student engagement and create and sustain a positive community experience. The incumbent works Monday through Friday 11:00am to 7:30pm with schedule adjustments to support student programming.
1Coordinate and implement social, cultural, and leadership development activities and special events, to include contacting vendors and scheduling transportation for students.2.Plan, implement, and evaluate aspects of diversified campus-wide activities and programs such as Welcome Week, Service Learning, and Community Service programs.3Oversee activities of Student Greek and Social Fellowship organizations, including governance. Develop policies, procedures and constitutions that relate to campus activities and Greek or professional organizations.4.Serve as daytime building manager for the Marcus Foster Student Alumni Center as well as serve as a clearinghouse for all campus building usage permits and campus postings.5.Coordinate all student organizations and clubs, provide leadership training, and serve as reviewing entity for future student organizations and clubs.6.Lead signature annual university programs such as Mr. & Miss Cheyney University, Black History Month Womens History Month, and other cultural Month programming.7.Monitor and initiate expenditure of funds in Student Activities, Marcus Foster Building Reserves and Vending commissions accounts.8.Deliver to the Executive Director a comprehensive summary including data of the prior years activities and a plan for the following academic. The plan should include data budget summary, narrative on each activity This report is due by last Friday in May of the spring semester.9.Develop master campus events activities calendar. Use university channels and social media (Website, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.) to develop and own marketing/outreach plans to announce and catalog student activities on campus.10.Collect and report data on student involvement in evening programs and activities to assess effectiveness and promote program success.11.Coordinate with Information Technology/Telecommunications regarding usage of technology computer/AV equipment. Provides assistance to customers using AV equipment and troubleshoots AV equipment and makes repairs: as necessary.12.Liaise with Academic Learning Communities to ensure student activities have a strong presence in student union and residence halls.13.Manages Student Center budget and assist with the development of the Student Activities budget and Assist with identify and submitting grants to improve program offerings.
14.Work across Student Activities to coordinate and manage major campus events such as Homecoming or May Weekend15.Participates in planning, collaboration, and implementation of other division functions16.Updates custodial staff as to building use and needs and monitors building and equipment maintenance and repair schedule.17.Works with Public Safety and employees to ensure security and maintenance of university property and assets in the Student Union.18.Advise Student Government Association (SGA).19.Develop SGA budget, provide budget oversight and budget management20.Manage all administrative tasks for SGA including payroll, supplies, and office space.21.Facilitate communication and collaboration between SGA, Student Activities, appropriate university offices, departments, and organizations; and assist Student Government Association (SGA) in developing relationships with these constituencies.22.Attend and participate in SGA leadership meetings and SGA functions (homecoming activities, May Weekend etc.).
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handles sensitive issues and information with confidentiality and discretion; (2) Supervises the development and implementation of programs and activities that meet the needs of commuter and residential students; (4) Coordinates several succinct University programs as assigned; (5) Works with the Student Affairs area to maintain the quality of student life on campus.
Requirements
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.
Education, Training, and/or Experience:
A Bachelors Degree, four to five years of related student affairs experience. At least one year of staff supervisory experience is required.
