The Role
The Director of Student Experience reports directly to the Chief of Student Experience & Equity and is responsible for ensuring a high-quality student experience and strong student retention across all 17 campuses. This leader helps set the vision, strategy, and support systems for student belonging & engagement (e.g advisory), athletic/academic competitions (e.g. The Noble League), and promotion (e.g. MTSS)–all vital to driving student experience & retention.  The  DSE partners closely with principals, campus staff, and various Noble Support Team staff to foster environments where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.  The DSE directly manages the Assistant Director of Athletics (who supervises the Manager of Athletics Marketing), the Assistant Director of Student Supports, and the Assistant Director of Student Experience.  Collectively, this team is responsible, at minimum, for the roles and responsibilities outlined below.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Student Retention 
Oversee efforts to continuously improve Noble’s student retention by continuously analyzing and responding to campus retention data, critically analyzing campus and network systems and policies on retention, and coordinating and executing professional development with campus and network staff accordingly.

 

  • Student Promotion & Graduation 
Relentlessly and continuously focus on improving Noble’s on-time promotion and graduation rates. Through supporting our Deans of Students and creating and supporting a robust Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) at all campuses, create an environment where students are relentlessly supported around their attendance, academic, and behavioral promotion requirements.  This includes, but is not limited to, providing rich support (policy and practice guidance, tracking, reporting) around transcripts, credit recovery, Report Card Pick Up, daily attendance and truancy intervention, graduation, etc.  

 

  • Advisory
Enhance Noble’s student advisory system and curriculum through ongoing professional development, curriculum review/design work, and through implementing student-input survey mechanism (e.g. Student Experience Survey) to monitor, analyze, report out on and respond to advisor impact

 

  • Noble League & Enrichment
Oversee the quality execution of all Noble League activities and competitions, including the ongoing development of Noble coaches and Athletic Directors.   In addition, work closely with campuses to  enhance Noble’s enrichment offerings and quality.  Overall, continuously push programming quality and increase student participation in enrichment activities to promote a richer student experience and sense of belonging across all 17 campuses. 



Measured Metrics of Success
Success for the Director of Student Experience  is determined by the ongoing improvement of multiple culture and student support metrics.  This includes, but is not limited to, metrics like student retention, daily attendance, student on-track promotion and graduation rates, % of students participating in The Noble League, and overall favorability on Noble’s Student Experience Survey.
 
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of 6–12 student experience, academics, student engagement, social-emotional learning, positive school culture, athletics, promotion, and retention processes.
  • Demonstrated success coaching and supporting school leaders to implement effective student experience and retention strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable solutions.
  • Skilled at navigating complex interpersonal dynamics while maintaining trust, clarity, and accountability.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the capacity to balance urgent, day-to-day demands with long-term strategic planning and vision-setting.
  • Deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
Minimum Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education, leadership, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in schools or related roles in 6–12 education.
  • Proven success improving school climate, student outcomes, student engagement, and student retention..
Compensation
We strive to be among the best places to work in education, and our employee benefits are thoughtfully designed to support us in this ambition. Compensation for this position typically falls between $110,000 and $125,000 per year, which represents the average for staff in this role. Factors such as years of experience and skill sets may impact placement within, or outside, this range.
