Overview:
The Director of Strategic Initiatives plays a critical role in helping JP Cullen achieve its long-term strategic
vision. The Director of Strategic Initiatives is responsible for translating organizational strategy into
actionable plans and ensuring successful implementation across all business units. This role drives
alignment between strategic initiatives and operational execution, monitors progress and removes
barriers to achieve company goals. The position requires a high level of collaboration with executive and
senior leadership, support group leaders, and project teams to deliver measurable results
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Alignment & Planning:
- Partner with Co-Presidents, Executive Team, and Strategic Planning Committees to prioritize
strategic initiatives and define success metrics - Develop and maintain a roadmap for execution of strategic projects
- Develop and define quarterly goals and measurables
- Future opportunity to lead the five-year strategy planning sessions and provide roadmap for
implementation
- Execution & Performance Management:
- Oversee implementation of key initiatives, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality
standards are met - Establish KPIs and reporting systems to track progress and communicate results to
leadership
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Serve as the focal point with senior management across the company to identify and
prioritize strategic and operational opportunities - Facilitate coordination between divisions and support groups on their strategic plans to
ensure alignment and resource allocation
- Process Improvement:
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance operational
effectiveness - Lead change management efforts to support adoption of new systems, processes, and
technologies
- Vision Statement
- Aid in the creation of milestones and KPIs for Vision Statement Achievement
- Connect action plans of Strategic Plans and Strategic Initiatives to the Vision Statement
- Strategic Initiatives:
- In conjunction with Strategic Planning Team, create and facilitate action plans for strategic
initiatives (SIs) - Work closely with SI leader with implementation plan
- Establish key milestones and KPIs in execution of SIs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. At least
eight (8) years of experience in strategic planning, operations, or project management within
construction or similar industry.- Experience identifying, evaluating and analyzing critical strategic questions and business
situations - Results oriented with ability to blend conceptual and analytical frameworks to develop
pragmatic and sustainable approaches to solving business issues - Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize and drive multiple simultaneous
projects - Strong analytical capabilities and experience designing data-driven analysis
- Ability to formulate and deliver concise communication to senior management of complex
information and recommendations, in both written and oral presentation - Exceptional relationship management with collaborative style to partner with internal and
external stakeholders across levels - Operating knowledge of how organizations translate business strategies into opportunities
and results - Excellent personal and leadership qualities with demonstrated ability to gain the confidence
of individuals at all levels of the company - Enthusiastic and inspiring leadership style, welcoming of accountability and able to hold
others accountable in constructive manner - Willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure success
