The Salvation Army Midland Division Shelter located in St. Louis Missouri is looking for a Director of Special Events
This position is responsible for the planning coordination and implementation of the Tree of Lights Campaign events andadditionalDevelopmentDepartment-relatedevents throughout the year.
This is a full-time 40 hour a week position exempt position 65000 annually. 1130 Hampton Ave St. Louis MO 63139
Essential Functions Develop promote and oversee the execution of events conducted on behalf of The Salvation ArmyGreater Louis Region. Provide supportresources andcoachingforevents across the Division. Establish annualfundraisinggoals andbudgetobjectives for the planning and execution of events and their respective components. Evaluate ROIpost-eventand make recommendations for future events. Identifyand secureeventsponsorships purchases and donations of income and items.
In cooperation with Volunteer Manager articulate volunteer needs for events and projects.Provide supervision to eventvolunteers whereappropriate. Create a plan withtimelineand goals forall Activelyparticipate in development team meetings provide regular and special reports of activities as directed.
Personally oversee the special bell ringing days andcollaborate withVolunteerstaffon planning. WorkcloselywiththeVolunteerstaffforcorporatebellringingcontractseventsand IncooperationwithVolunteerstaffarticulatevolunteerneedsforeventsandprojects to ensureproperstaffingand support. Supervise volunteers whereappropriate.
Maintain confidentiality and a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with clients coworkers and supervisors resolve conflicts in a professional manner treat staff visitors and clients with courtesy show respect of others property and person and communicate professionally and appropriately to and about clients coworkers and supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in management business publicrelations or relatedareaand five 5yearsrelated work experience. Will consider combination of education and experience. Proventrack record of flawless event execution in person and virtually. Volunteer management andor supervisory experience. Position requiresvaliddrivers license ability to passTSAMVR check and reliable transportation. Must be a team player self-starter able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision. Demonstrateabilityto think independently and exercise sound judgment. Ability to work successfully under pressure anddeadlinesespecially during the Tree of Lights campaign. Able to workadditionalhours as needed e.during the Tree of Lights campaign.

Travel Requires some travel.
