Director of Sales leads and develops strategic sales plans and drives revenue growth while managing client relationships and coordinating with hotel departments.
- Manage and create sales goals to meet revenue targets.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow the hotel's customer base and increase revenue.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, including corporate clients, event planners, and travel agencies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and service.
- Analyze market trends, identify new markets and opportunities, and create plans to capitalize on them.
- Create and maintain sales reports to track performance and progress toward goals.
- Attend industry conferences and events to network and gather information about the latest trends and strategies.
- Manage the hotel's pricing strategy and negotiate contracts with clients to ensure maximum profitability.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and address their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Full SMERF Market Ownership:
- Proactively develop and grow the SMERF segment.
- Identify new demand generators and build long-term partnerships.
- Maintain relationships with civic groups, schools, religious organizations, and fraternal groups.
- Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, and community functions.
- Maintain competitive market intelligence and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Revenue & Sales Activity:
- Make consistent outside and inside sales calls.
- Implement approved sales plans and develop innovative sales strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and sales activity reports.
- Conduct follow-up calls with in-house guests, group leaders, and planners to generate future business.
- Maintain competitive analysis statistical information.

Qualifications:
- Proven sales experience, meeting or exceeding targets.
- Previous experience as a sales manager (preferably in the hospitality industry).
- Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
- Proven ability to position products against competitors.
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team.
- Prior hotel sales and/or convention services experience preferred.
