Director of Sales – Wholesale & Channel Growth

GT Water Products is a fast-growing manufacturer of innovative plumbing and water system solutions serving the wholesale distribution and contractor markets. Our products are engineered for reliability, ease of installation, and real-world jobsite performance.

We are expanding our wholesale and distribution footprint and are seeking a Director of Sales – Wholesale & Channel Growth to lead this next phase of growth.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a sales director who understands how to scale through distribution networks, build strong channel relationships, and translate technical products into value for contractors and end users.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will own and expand GT Water Products’ wholesale and distribution channel strategy:

  • Lead growth across wholesale, distributor, and regional/national account channels
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to expand product penetration and market share
  • Build and deepen relationships with key distributors, buying groups, and field sales teams
  • Partner with distributor branches and contractor networks to drive specification, adoption, and sell-through
  • Translate technical product features into clear value propositions for field sales teams and end users
  • Develop training, sales enablement, and product education programs for channel partners
  • Identify new distribution opportunities and emerging regional market expansion strategies
  • Negotiate pricing, programs, and agreements within corporate guidelines
  • Monitor sales performance, channel KPIs, and market trends to identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, marketing, and engineering teams
  • Represent the company at industry events, distributor meetings, and trade associations

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

We are open to strong leaders from multiple backgrounds—not just direct competitors.

Ideal Backgrounds Include:

  • Wholesale/distribution sales leadership (plumbing, waterworks, mechanical, HVAC, industrial supplies)
  • Channel sales or national accounts roles at manufacturers or distributors
  • Technical sales roles selling engineered or spec-driven products
  • Manufacturer rep agency leadership or senior rep experience
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/CRM systems

Core Experience:

  • 5+ years in B2B sales, wholesale distribution, channel sales, or technical product sales
  • Experience working with distributor networks (e.g., branch-based selling models)
  • Strong understanding of contractor-facing sales environments
  • Proven ability to grow revenue through indirect sales channels
  • Experience leading or influencing sales strategy (formal management experience preferred but not required)

Helpful Technical Exposure (Not Required):

  • Plumbing systems, waterworks, valves, pumps, or flow-control products
  • Mechanical or engineered building products
  • Specification-based selling (engineer distributor contractor flow)

  • Strong engagement and pull-through from wholesale partners
  • Increased product visibility at the branch level
  • Measurable revenue growth through channel expansion and partner activation
  • Strong alignment between field teams, distributors, and internal stakeholders

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent industry experience strongly considered

Please note that these are just some potential examples, and the specific benefits and perks offered may vary based on the position and location. 
 

Compensation:  $82,000 annual base salary plus the opportunity to earn up to an additional 50% of base salary through commission based on performance.
