    Job Summary

    The Director of Sales and Outreach drives the community's census (occupancy) by leading sales, marketing, and outreach. They act as the primary brand ambassador, guiding prospective residents and families through the transition into independent living, assisted living, and/or memory care. The Director of Sales and Outreach for a senior living community (Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care) is responsible for driving occupancy goals by generating leads, conducting tours, managing the full sales cycle, and executing marketing strategies. They build relationships with families, seniors, and referral partners to move prospects into the community.

    Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

    • Manage the entire sales funnel—from fielding inquiries and lead generation to nurturing prospects and closing sales. Record all activity in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
    • Conduct engaging, empathetic, and customized tours for prospective residents and their families, highlighting the community's amenities, care levels, and lifestyle.
    • Build strong referral partnerships with local healthcare professionals, discharge planners, physicians, senior centers, and community organizations.
    • Plan and execute marketing and educational events (e.g., seminars, open houses, or support groups) to attract families and build brand awareness
    • Ensure a seamless move-in process by collaborating with nursing, maintenance, and administrative teams to welcome new residents smoothly.
    • Monitor local market conditions, competitor offerings, and industry trends to adapt sales strategies and achieve occupancy goals.
    • Distribute marketing materials and educational resources to referral partners. 
    • Responsible for tracking and increasing monthly qualified lead generation.
    • Responsible for tracking and increasing move-in goals for multiple communities.
    • Responsible for tracking and increasing the number of monthly professional outreach touchpoints and new relationships established. 
    • Hiring, training and management of other marketing/sales personnel on campus.
    • Working with leadership to develop quarterly marketing plans.
    • Visiting hospitals, physicians, and senior services to generate leads.
    • Brand Ambassador serving as the face of the community to the external public.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • 2–5+ years of successful sales or marketing experience, preferably within senior housing, assisted living, or memory care.
    • Strong understanding of the aging process, the specific care needs of memory care/dementia residents and assisted living regulations.
    • Familiarity with state and federal regulations, including ADA and Fair Housing regulations.
    • Experience with CRM software, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Proven experience of sales and marketing success in exceeding business financial goals via sales and marketing.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, public speaking, and active listening skills, with the ability to handle delicate family conversations with compassion.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
    • A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
