Director of Risk Management & Quality

Location: East Dallas Area | Full-Time | Acute Care Hospital

The Opportunity
An acute care hospital in the East Dallas area is looking for a Director of Risk Management & Quality to take ownership of the organization's full quality and patient safety portfolio. This is a dual-scope director role — you are running quality improvement and risk management as an integrated function, not as two separate lanes bolted together. If you are an RN who has built your career on clinical credibility and moved into quality and risk leadership, this is the kind of role that puts that trajectory to work at a meaningful level.

The Role
You will have authority and responsibility across the hospital's accreditation and regulatory compliance program, performance improvement initiatives, core measures, patient safety reporting, and occurrence management. You will interface with corporate risk management on pre-litigation files and negotiations, serve as the internal expert on regulatory readiness, and lead the hospital's integrated approach to quality across all facets — clinical, operational, and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all quality improvement activity and coordinating patient safety data reporting, analysis, and clinical outcomes at the facility level
- Developing, implementing, and managing the accreditation and regulatory compliance program
- Leading an integrated approach to performance improvement, core measures, and occurrence reporting
- Initiating and managing all investigational and evaluation activities related to professional and general liability occurrences and pre-litigation files
- Serving as the facility's internal resource on clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory matters
- Providing risk management assessment of processes, procedures, and programs, including in-service education and provider consultation

What You Bring
- BSN required; Master's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
- Active RN licensure in Texas, Compact eligible, or by endorsement
- Minimum 10 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
- 2–5 years of experience in Quality or Risk Management
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; additional languages a plus

What We Offer
- Base salary: Commensurate with experience
- Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
- Full benefits package (full-time assignment)
- Collaborative, team-member-focused culture

Why the East Dallas Area
This part of the Metroplex sits at the edge of where Dallas gives way to wide-open Texas — close enough to the city for every amenity, far enough out to breathe. The area draws people who want DFW access without DFW density: established suburban communities, Lake Ray Hubbard just to the north, and commute corridors that actually work. Neighborhoods like Rockwall, Forney, and Rowlett offer good schools, affordable homes relative to the core, and a pace of life that holds. If you want the economic pull of a major metro with room to spread out, this pocket of the Metroplex delivers.

About the Organization
This is a standalone acute care hospital — community-scaled, community-focused, and built around the idea that every patient interaction is an opportunity to make things better. The culture here is team-member driven, with active investment in engagement, professional development, and a work environment designed for people who take their clinical work seriously.
