The Director of Revenue Accounting & Rebates is a critical leadership position within the Global Close and Accounting Operations team with responsibility and oversight of the revenue accounting and rebates team.Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Lead the Revenue Recognition accounting and rebates teams in the US fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and high performance.
Develop and mentor team members, providing opportunities for growth and professional development. Ensure team structure aligns to business needs. Establish clear and achievable goals for the team and individual team members and hold each person accountable to these goals by providing thoughtful and regular feedback, identifying areas or opportunities and highlighting successes.
Collaborate on and lead key initiatives, relevant system implementations and process improvement opportunities cross-functionally and within the revenue and rebates teams.
Ensure team operates with effective internal controls globally.
Serve as a key contact for external auditors in facilitating completion of the Company’s quarterly reviews and annual audits specific to revenue accounting and rebates.
Lead strategic, tactical and operational planning (24 + months) for the function, including direct budgetary responsibility for department and major projects or programs.
Revenue Accounting & Rebates:
Oversee the accounting for all revenue transactions and gross to net reserves, including revenue accounting controls. Actively work with FP&A and operations ensure accounting team retains proper ownership and knowledge of key revenue entries.
Oversee the rebates revenue team whose responsibility is to ensure timeline and accurate processing of customer rebates.
Participate in and support the planning and forecasting activities led by the VP, Corporate FP&A.
Manage customer contract review to ensure proper revenue recognition and rebate processing.
Compliance & Controls:
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
Work with GIC team to ensure compliance across revenue accounting and rebates processes. Pro-actively lead remediation efforts to address timely identified gaps in control design or execution.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and controls to ensure sustainability and reduce risk of failure.
Identify and lead training opportunities and team meetings for the accounting and close team to ensure consistent awareness of understanding of accounting, controls and policy changes and expectations.
Required Experience:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of accounting experience.
At least 2 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
Advanced knowledge of accounting matters specific to revenue recognition and gross to net accounting under U.S. GAAP.
Experience communicating effectively at multiple levels of the organization.
Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA, CGMA, or CMA.
MBA.
SAP, AS400, Tagetik and QAD system experience.
Financial Consolidations / Foreign Currency experience.
Experience leading Change Management.
Experience leading Projects.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$177,000.00 - $266,000.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
