Mission Statement

Regis High School transforms Catholic young men into leaders devoted to Deo et Patriae and lifelong service as Men for Others. Merit based and committed to families with financial need, Regis provides an academically exceptional, tuition-free Jesuit education within a caring community.

Position

The Director of Research & Information Services will have the extraordinary opportunity to work with approximately 530 exceptional, gifted young men, talented faculty, and committed staff. Located in New York City, Regis High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school and the only Jesuit, full-scholarship high school in the country. The school was founded in 1914 through the extraordinary generosity of an anonymous woman and her family. Regis now relies on the philanthropy of alumni, parents, and friends as its most significant source of financial support. Regis is committed to both academic excellence and fostering a spirit of generosity and service to those in need. Regis seeks to inspire and educate the ethnically diverse young men in its care to become imaginative Catholic leaders committed to promoting justice and exerting leadership in the Church, in their civic community, and in their future chosen profession.

Position Summary

The Director of Research & Information Services is the intellectual steward of Regis High School's research and information ecosystem. The Director advances the school's mission by developing students' abilities as thoughtful researchers, discerning consumers of information, and ethical creators of knowledge while providing faculty with exceptional research support, instructional collaboration, and access to high-quality information resources.

As an educator and academic partner, the Director collaborates with faculty across all disciplines to integrate research skills, information literacy, digital scholarship, and emerging technologies into the curriculum. The Director oversees the school's library and research collections, manages digital information resources, promotes a culture of reading and inquiry, and ensures that the library serves as a vibrant academic hub for independent study, collaboration, and intellectual discovery.

The Director also manages the process for students to secure all purchased and loaned textbooks and course books each school year, including coordinating with other NY school districts as needed.

Inspired by the Jesuit tradition of rigorous scholarship and the pursuit of truth, the Director fosters habits of curiosity, reflection, discernment, and lifelong learning.
