Director of Quality

We're partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in the aerospace/defense space that's looking to bring on a Director of Quality to lead and elevate their quality function.
This is a high-impact role where you'll own the Quality Management System, work directly with leadership, and play a key role in driving compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across the business.
What you'll be doing:
Own and lead the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with AS9100 standards
Drive the organization through AS9100 certification and ongoing compliance
Lead internal audits, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives
Partner with customers to address quality issues, complaints, and overall satisfaction
Ensure compliance with ITAR and export regulations tied to government and defense work
Oversee supplier quality and work cross-functionally with purchasing and operations
Manage inspection, documentation control, calibration systems, and asset tracking
Analyze quality metrics (defects, performance, trends) and report findings to leadership
Lead and mentor the quality team while improving processes across the organization
What they're looking for:
7-10+ years in quality leadership within aerospace, defense, or similar regulated manufacturing
Strong hands-on experience with AS9100 / ISO 9001 (AS9120 is a plus)
Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt preferred)
Experience with ITAR compliance and government contract requirements
Ability to lead audits, root cause investigations, and system improvements
Comfortable reading engineering drawings and working with inspection tools
Proven experience managing teams within a quality or inspection environment
Strong communicator - able to work across all levels internally and externally
