Our client, a midsized hospital located in Iowa, about 1 ½ hours from Des Moines, has a need for an experienced Director of Quality & Risk Management to join their team. Candidates MUST be a RN and MUST have their MSN. They MUST also have at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role in Nursing, Risk or Quality management.
The Director of Quality/Risk is responsible for governing the facilities regulatory compliance programs and takes the lead role in planning, organizing, and managing effective quality/performance improvement and risk management functions for all departments and divisions of the hospital. Elements include safe environment, clinical standards, infection prevention, patient advocacy, clinical education, professional, property, and general liability, clinical standards, and on-going systematic performance improvement programs. The Director of Quality/Risk is supported and receives oversight from administration, the hospital’s Board of Directors, and the hospital’s parent company for the role and responsibilities for The Director of Quality/Risk.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
· Master’s degree in Nursing other healthcare related fields required.
· Clinical degree (RN) required.
· Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) within one year of hire.
· Certification in Quality Management preferred.
EXPERIENCE
• 5 years of leadership and/or management experience in a healthcare setting in nursing, risk, and/or quality improvement.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
· RN licensure in the state of Iowa. CPPS within one year of hire and CPHQ certification preferred.
Salary range is $110,000--$150,000 plus eligible for up to a 10% management bonus and relo asst.
- Develop quality assurance and quality control plans for proposals
- Develop quality policies and procedures, and quality system development
- Maintain the quality management system
- Work closely with plant operations in the areas of quality control engineering, quality verification, quality assurance and supplier quality

- Manage compliance to quality procedures and continuously improve the quality management system
- Standardize quality systems across the company
- Facilitate company's organization for quality control, quality assurance and compliance functions
- Improving quality of clinical care
- Establish a new product development quality process
- Establish product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures
- Meet quality objectives and manage corrective actions to improve supplier quality
- Establishing quality and service standards
- Hold monthly quality meetings to update the quality team on key quality developments and needs
- Update the quality control manual
- Establish a strong supplier quality program
- Maintain the quality manual and quality management system
- Ensure regulatory requirements pertaining to quality improvement activities
- Review quality compliance audits and document control
- Ensure implementation of all quality training
