Director of Pupil Personnel Services

Location: Burlington County Institute of Technology

Position Summary:

BCIT is seeking a qualified Director of Pupil Personnel Services to oversee and coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of district-wide guidance and special education programs. This role includes supervision of Child Study Team Services, Speech and Language Services, and Section 504 requirements (managed at the building level).

The Director will serve as the primary evaluator for Guidance staff, Child Study Teams, and Speech and Language Specialists, while working collaboratively with administrative and instructional staff. Strong communication with parents, community members, sending districts, and county agencies is essential.

Qualifications

  • NJDOE School Administrator or Principal Certification (required)
  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Special Education teacher, Guidance Counselor, or Child Study Team member
  • Minimum of 3 years of administrative leadership experience in a public school district (Principal or Director preferred)

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Special education programs and services
  • Instructional strategies and learning styles for students receiving special services
  • Program development and evaluation
  • Child Study Team services
  • Guidance and health services
  • Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
  • NJAC 6A:14, Chapters 26 & 28
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (USPL 93-112) and ADA Amendments Act of 2008

Salary & Benefits

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is: $150,664 $163,406
