Kids on Bikes (KOB) was established as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2005 with a mission to inspire and empower all kids to lead healthy, happy, and active lives through bicycling. Our top priorities are to provide all kids access to rideable bikes, ongoing opportunities to ride, and bicycle education.
Position Summary:
The Director of Program & Camp Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing Kids on Bikes' core programs and seasonal summer bike camps. This position blends program development, camp operations, volunteer coordination, and community partnerships to ensure high-quality, sustainable programming aligned with KOB's mission.
Key Responsibilities
Programs & Curriculum
Develop, refine, and implement bicycling curriculum for multiple ages and programs
Initiate and support new program initiatives that expand KOB's reach and impact
Lead or co-lead Earn-A-Bike and Bike Club programs at schools and community sites
Track program metrics, outcomes, and provide quarterly reporting
Support grant-related program writing, tracking, invoices, and reporting
Plan for long-term program sustainability and growth, including training and supervision of program staff and volunteers
Camps & Clinics
Manage all operational support and critical functions for Summer Bike Camps
Communicate clearly and consistently with camp families
Maintain camp-related website updates
Manage, scheduling, training, and communication
Verify coach hours for payroll
Manage enforcement of camp policies
Volunteers & Coaches
Coordinate recruitment, interviews, scheduling, and training
Maintain accurate volunteer and coach data
Create an inclusive and welcoming environment
Serve as a point of leadership and support for all camps and programs
Community Partnerships & Special Programs
Collaborate with community partners and youth-serving agencies
Support special programs and initiatives
Partner with school districts, City Parks and Rec, and other organizations
Assist with sustainability initiatives and special projects
Administration Support
Assist with monthly expense reporting
Manage overall jersey enterprise for camps and other jersey orders
Support marketing and other communications
Other duties as assigned
Desired Background & Attributes
Strong interest in positive youth development and outdoor recreation
Experience supervising staff and volunteers
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Knowledge of Google Drive and CRM systems (CampMinder preferred)
Knowledge of mountain biking skills and coaching preferred

Full-time, salary position
Starting pay: $65,000 annual salary, depending on experience
