Duties Description The Director of Procurement Strategy and Portfolio Management will oversee, from a strategic and forward-looking perspective, all components of SUNYs system-wide procurement portfolio. The successful incumbent will serve as a strategic leader responsible for aiding in transforming how SUNY System Administration, in collaboration with campuses, approaches procurement. This role will drive the transition from decentralized procurement practices to a coordinated, targeted, data informed, and strategically aligned procurement model.
This role will build collaborative relationships with campus procurement leaders and work in close partnership to identify and coordinate those procurement opportunities that will leverage the collective buying power of SUNY system and its campuses. Through disciplined portfolio category management, cross-campus engagement, and innovative sourcing strategies, this role will aid in reshaping procurement into a strategic system-wide function that delivers enhanced value, operational efficiency, and long-term financial benefit for SUNY and its campuses.
