Supervises, coordinates, develops, and implements clinical pharmacy services and programs for the San Antonio market working in concert with the Regional Vice President and Directors of Pharmacy at all hospitals. Provides leadership in optimizing pharmaco safety, pharmacotherapy, and pharmaco economics for neonatal, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including inpatients and outpatient. Performs any other related duties and completes any necessary projects as assigned. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited college or university in Pharmacy with a PharmD degree
PREFERRED EDUCATION: PharmD degree with PGY-1/PGY-2 residency training and master’s degree (e.g. clinical sciences, business administration, healthcare administration, public health)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years of progressive advanced clinical pharmacy experience including direct patient care, supervision of staff, and coordination of services and programs
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years of practice and supervisory clinical pharmacy experience at both the institutional and regional health system levels as well as experience with pharmacy operations management, financial management, staff development, student and resident education, patient safety, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, pharmacy informatics, and service on committees at the institutional and corporate levels
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current Texas State license from Texas State Board of Pharmacy
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Board certification in pharmacotherapy or other pharmacy
