Position Summary


The Pharmacy Operations Manager oversees daily pharmacy operations, staff leadership, compliance, vendor relationships, and PBM interactions.


This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems, leading people, and creating operational excellence — while working in a collaborative and forward-moving environment.


Compounding experience is preferred but not required for the right leader.


What You’ll Lead


Team Leadership


  • Hire, train, mentor, and develop pharmacy technicians and support staff

  • Create and manage team schedules

  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching

  • Maintain accountability while fostering a positive team culture

  • Lead team meetings and encourage continuous improvement

Daily Operations


  • Oversee prescription workflow (retail and compounding)

  • Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high patient service standards

  • Monitor turnaround times and productivity

  • Identify and implement workflow improvements

Compliance & Licensure


  • Maintain all pharmacy licensure and registrations

  • Track renewal deadlines and submit required documentation

  • Ensure compliance with USP <795> and <797> standards

  • Prepare for inspections and accreditation reviews

  • Maintain OSHA and HIPAA training compliance

  • Oversee quality assurance documentation and logs

Accreditation & Audit Readiness


  • Maintain SOP manuals and policy documentation

  • Organize training records and environmental monitoring logs

  • Lead audit preparation and corrective action plans

  • Conduct internal compliance checks

Vendor & Supply Management


  • Manage relationships with wholesalers and suppliers

  • Monitor inventory and ordering systems

  • Coordinate equipment maintenance

  • Evaluate vendors and improve purchasing efficiency

PBM & Third-Party Management


  • Respond to PBM audits and documentation requests

  • Manage credentialing and re-credentialing

  • Address reimbursement discrepancies

  • Oversee prior authorization workflow systems

  • Maintain compliance with payer contracts

Growth & Strategy


  • Monitor key performance indicators

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and revenue

  • Support ownership in operational growth initiatives

What We’re Looking For


  • 2+ years pharmacy experience (lead or senior technician preferred)

  • Texas Licensed Pharmacy Technician preferred

  • CPhT certification preferred

  • Strong understanding of pharmacy workflow and compliance standards

  • Experience handling PBM audits preferred

  • High proficiency with pharmacy software and technology

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Someone who takes ownership and leads by example
