Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Lead the pharmacy operations at a new behavioral health facility opening in Independence, Missouri, as the Director of Pharmacy (DOP)/Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). This contract role begins between April 27th and May 4th and provides a unique opportunity to shape pharmacy services from the ground up until a permanent hire is in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the pharmacy setup and operations in an inpatient behavioral health setting
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to order medications and manage inventory
  • Stock Omnicell automation systems and ensure efficient use of technology
  • Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures aligned with best practices
  • Manage daily workflows ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Provide on-call support during evenings and weekends as needed
  • Communicate progress and updates regularly through weekly calls and emails

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must hold an active Missouri pharmacist license in good standing
  • Proven experience in inpatient behavioral health pharmacy practice
  • Familiarity with order entry systems such as HCS or Cerner preferred
  • Experience working with Omnicell automation systems advantageous
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to adapt in a new facility environment
  • Ability to work independently without technician support

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, plus on-call coverage
  • Weekend on-call support only
