Under the general direction of Commissioner or designee, the Director of Payroll Operations oversees, manages, and optimizes the payroll functions within the organization. He/She ensures timely and accurate processing of payroll and compliance with federal and local legislations as well as applicable rules and regulations. Collaborates closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Human Resources, and other key stakeholders. Directs the work of subordinate staff within the division/unit. Incumbent is given considerable latitude in interpreting and scheduling work assignments to meet deadlines.
Work is reviewed for adherence to established policies and regulations through meetings with the Chief Financial Officer or designee.
