This leadership role provides an opportunity to shape the spiritual life of the community while ensuring high-quality pastoral care is available at every level of care.

The Chaplain serves as the primary spiritual leader for Still Hopes, overseeing all aspects of pastoral care and worship. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide spiritual leadership and oversight for pastoral care across the full continuum of care.
  • Develop and lead worship services, Bible studies and classes, special observances, and seasonal programming for the community.
  • Offer pastoral care, spiritual support, and counseling to residents, families, and staff, with particular attention to independent living.
  • Foster meaningful relationships with residents through regular visitation and engagement.
  • Support and care for staff through presence, counseling, and spiritual encouragement.
  • Oversee and coordinate memorial services in collaboration with families, clergy, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support the holistic well-being of residents.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to chaplaincy staff, including the Associate Chaplain.
  • Ensure inclusive, ecumenical spiritual care that respects diverse faith traditions.

Qualifications:

  • Must be an ordained priest in the Episcopal Church in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in parish ministry, chaplaincy, or related setting; experience working with older adults a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and giftedness in pastoral care and spiritual leadership.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals across a range of cognitive and physical abilities.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic and empathetic leader who is passionate about fostering a vibrant spiritual life within a senior living community while supporting both residents and staff with dignity, compassion, and grace.
