The Director of Operations is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of Perioperative Services located at the YNHH campuses, and Ambulatory Surgery Centers. This integral role supports the operations required to support the delivery of superior interdisciplinary patient and family centered care within the context of the organization 's mission, vision and values. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Perioperative Services in collaboration with the Clinical Chief/Executive Director and Vice Chair for Anesthesia, the incumbent will facilitate the implementation of strategic and business plans for major programs and initiatives across the enterprise. This individual is responsible for case scheduling, charging functions, IT infrastructure, equipment, facility projects and capital budgets. The individual in this position will contribute to shaping the entire Perioperative enterprises and will be charged with promoting a culture that emphasizes world class patient and family centered care that ensures exquisite communications, cost efficiency, patient/family and provider satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
1. Business Strategy
1.1 Collaborate with leadership to define Perioperative Services evolving vision based on market needs, program strengths, and synergy.
2. Operations
2.1 Provides operational oversight for Perioperative Departments and Services, ensuring effective coordination of daily activities and achievement of departmental goals.
3. Fiscal Management
3.1 Assists the VP of Perioperative Services with the development of the annual budget.
4. Human Resources Management
4.1 Provides leadership, coaching, and development to managers and staff, fostering a culture of mutual respect, cultural diversity, teamwork, quality improvement, collegiality and learning are priority values.
5. Organizational Leadership
5.1 Accepts 24-hour/365 day responsibility for the daily operations of Perioperative Procedure Departments.
6. Customer Satisfaction
6.1 Collaborates with the VP of Perioperative Services to implement a method to measure customer satisfaction and develops customer service standards reflecting excellence, consistent with YNHH policy for internal and external customers.
7. Outcomes Management
7.1 Supports the VP of Perioperative Services to ensure complete and constant regulatory compliance.
Seven to ten years of increasingly responsible managerial experience in a health care setting, with a minimum of at three to five years of experience in a procedural setting.
