The Director of Operations will oversee the Property Care and Maintenance teams to ensure properties are achieving company standards and goals. This position seeks out opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and enhance property performance. The Director of Operations frequently collaborates with other department heads to ensure guest and owner satisfaction, and handles administrative duties such as scheduling, budgeting, and analyzing the P&L.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Review and update weekly schedule and needs with Operations leadership
  • Assist/engage team with work order flow and completion audit
  • Developmental instruction assignments to property managers, maintenance techs, and operation specialists
  • Employee training and development
  • Oversee all initial and ongoing development training 
  • Meet monthly with support departments 
  • Meet weekly with Director of Operations Team to evaluate team communication and goal markers
  • Perform property inspections for grading and development opportunities
  • Must have a consistent rotation in market to offer full support to all areas in a consistent manner 
  • Maintain professional and personal development by attending in-house development sessions and self- development
  • Direct staff to follow a “safety first” principle and ensure that unsafe conditions are corrected immediately
  • Be aware of the company’s emergency preparedness plan and responsibilities. This includes being available for implementation and assistance if necessary
  • Recruit, hire, and train staff to company standards and expectations
  • Assist with on-call and after hours coverage as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred
  • At least five years of leadership experience in the vacation rental or property management industries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Travel as needed to properties and/or offices within the assigned markets
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software, Track, Kaba and other web-based applications needed for position
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills necessary to communication with owners, guests, vendors, team members and management 
  • Leadership and decision-making skills along with excellent time management and organization skills
  • Must pass background check and motor vehicle review 
  • Open availability to include weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work 

Full-time position. Varies based upon business needs. Must be able to work between Sunday and Saturday, be available 24/7 via phone and ability to work holidays. May need to work over 40 hours in any given week, based on workload.
