NOW HIRING | Director of Operations — Multi-State C-Store Platform | AR · TN · WI · MI
This isn't a maintenance role. This is a build role.
We're searching for a high-caliber Director of Operations to lead and scale a rapidly growing convenience store platform operating across Arkansas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Michigan. If you've built operational systems from the ground up, thrive in fast-moving acquisition environments, and know how to develop leaders while holding the line on standards — this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Compensation: $115,000–$125,000 base | 20% performance bonus | Full benefits
Chicago, Milwaukee, or Memphis area candidates strongly preferred due to geographic footprint.
About the Opportunity
This platform is in full growth mode — active acquisitions, pipeline conversions, and a leadership team hiring for scale. You'll step into a multi-state operation with 20+ active locations and a clear line of sight to 50+ units, backed by one of the largest convenience retail brands in the country. The person who lands this role will have real P&L ownership, real influence on systems and standards, and the opportunity to build the operational bench that carries this platform into its next stage.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage what already exists. This is a role for someone who wants to build what comes next.
What You'll Do
Own full operational performance across a multi-state footprint — fuel, inside sales, and foodservice
Lead the turnaround and integration of newly acquired and underperforming locations
Build, develop, and retain a high-performing field leadership team including District and Store Managers
Establish and enforce operating systems, standards, and brand compliance across all locations
Drive P&L results at the platform level — top-line sales, labor productivity, shrink, and margin
Partner with ownership and senior leadership on acquisition strategy, site assessments, and new store openings
Create a culture of execution — fast-moving, accountable, and standards-driven
What You Bring
Multi-unit operations leadership experience in convenience store, fuel retail, or a closely related QSR/retail format
Proven track record of scaling operations across multiple states and multiple locations
Deep understanding of c-store economics — fuel margins, inside sales mix, foodservice contribution, and shrink management
Experience leading through acquisition, conversion, or rapid-growth environments
Strong ability to recruit, develop, and hold field leaders accountable
An execution-first mindset — you move fast, close gaps, and don't wait to be asked twice
Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the multi-state footprint
Why This Role
The infrastructure is being built right now and you'd be at the center of it. Real ownership, real upside, and a leadership team that values people who get things done. Additional District Manager and Store Manager roles are being built around this hire — meaning you'll have a direct hand in shaping the team around you.
