The Director of Operations is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing multiple manufacturing facilities and ensuring alignment between operational execution and long-term business strategy. This role will drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and profitability while leading operational transformation initiatives across a complex manufacturing organization.

Description
- Lead operations across multiple manufacturing facilities
- Develop and execute operational strategies supporting business objectives
- Partner with executive leadership to drive growth and scalability
- Oversee production, quality, supply chain, logistics, maintenance, and engineering
- Establish and maintain KPI performance across all sites
- Drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives
- Standardize operational processes and manufacturing best practices
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives
- Improve throughput, efficiency, capacity utilization, and profitability
- Support precision manufacturing operations with complex product requirements
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams on strategic initiatives
- Develop and mentor plant managers and operational leaders
- Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Support workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development
- Manage operational budgeting, capital planning, and resource optimization
- Analyze manufacturing metrics to support data-driven decision making
- Drive investments in automation, equipment, and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Identify and mitigate operational risks across facilities
- Travel approximately 30% domestically and internationally

Profile
A successful Director of Operations should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing, or related field
- MBA preferred
- 10-15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
- 5+ years leading multi-site manufacturing operations
- Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Experience in precision machining, engineered products, bearings, motion control, or metal manufacturing
- Background in highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Proven success implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Track record driving operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Strong experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams
- Demonstrated change management and organizational transformation experience
- Financial and operational leadership expertise including capital planning and cost control
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, multi-site environment
