Overview
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced nursing leader to oversee surgical services operations. This role is responsible for driving clinical excellence, operational performance, and team leadership across perioperative departments. The position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient departmental performance.
Schedule
Full-time, day shift
Typical hours: 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for surgical services including main operating room, outpatient surgery, PACU, pre-op, post-op, and endoscopy
  • Monitor and improve performance metrics such as case volume, turnover times, utilization, and on-time starts
  • Establish departmental goals aligned with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee daily operations, including patient care delivery, service quality, and issue resolution
  • Lead staffing efforts including hiring, training, evaluations, and employee development
  • Manage departmental budgets and ensure financial accountability
  • Coordinate audits and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based clinical practices
  • Support professional growth and staff engagement
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Director-level nursing leadership role
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Experience leading teams, including performance management and staff development
  • BLS certification required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MSN, MBA, or Healthcare Administration)
  • Experience across PACU, pre-op, post-op, GI/endoscopy, and surgical services
  • Prior oversight of large teams (60+ FTEs preferred)
  • ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Extensive surgical services leadership experience
