We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team and oversee all clinical operations within our skilled nursing community. The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care, maintaining regulatory compliance, developing nursing staff, and driving positive clinical outcomes.

This role partners closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team to create a culture focused on excellence, accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations, clinical programs, and nursing staff.
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop a strong, engaged nursing team.
  • Ensure exceptional resident care while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning to support quality care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote positive clinical outcomes.
  • Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and monitor quality metrics.
  • Maintain survey readiness and oversee regulatory compliance activities.
  • Direct state reporting requirements and develop corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Monitor clinical policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Foster a positive work environment built on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • 40 hours per week + on call

Qualifications - Required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
  • Previous supervisory experience leading nursing staff.
  • Strong understanding of long-term care regulations, survey processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing state reporting, regulatory audits, and Plans of Correction.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff.
