Job Overview
As the DON, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing care, ensuring the highest quality standards are met, and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive nursing policies and procedures
- Oversee the delivery of resident care, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Manage nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Respond to resident and family concerns in a timely and compassionate manner
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting
- Previous experience as a DON or Assistant DON preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing nursing homes
