Overview:

This position directly reports to the Beebe Medical Group Chief Medical Officer, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Sr. VP/CNO, Beebe Healthcare. Serves as a Clinical Operations leader for BMG. Oversees and supports clinical responsibilities, in coordination with BMG Leadership. Partners with Medical Directors and APP Leadership in clinical dyad model. Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical non-provider staff competencies, scope of practices, and serves as clinical operations adviser to BMG.


Responsibilities:

Quality and Patient Safety 

 

  • Facilitate patient-centered care, serving as clinical expert in area of responsibility for staff, providers, supporting services, and other stakeholders 
  • Address escalated patient care, safety, and quality issues, as needed 
  • Solicit and use feedback from all staff to support effective change processes 
  • Ensure areas of responsibility are in compliance with system policies and procedures and with the requirements of applicable regulatory agencies (i.e. CMS, DE DOH, Medicaid)
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate quality initiatives to optimize patient outcomes 
  • Determine clinical mix and staffing models to support safe, timely, and high-quality care 
  • Partner with facilities, materials management, environmental services, infection control, and other supporting services to manage and mitigate patient care or operational risks
  • Collaborate with EMR team for clinical improvements and optimization o Assist in establishing and implementing policy, including but not limited to: professional licensure, registration and/or certification for non-provider clinical staff, risk management, clinical operations and clinical compliance, and staff and patient safety
  • Drive clinical excellence through collaboration with Hospital clinical leadership 

People 

 

  • Support HR functions in areas of responsibility, including but not limited to: recruitment, performance evaluations, career ladders, coaching plans, and corrective action o Mentor Practice Managers, staff, and others, in areas related to clinical quality, as needed 
  • Assist in meeting educational and mandatories requirement of staff 
  • Identify educational needs of staff who interface with various levels of care 
  • Develop and support employee engagement initiatives to promote positive work culture o Collaborate with HR, Regulatory, and Legal to resolve human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety, and risk management issues o Lead and facilitate employee-engagement activities 

Finance

 

  • Serve as core resource in areas of responsibility to develop strategies that maximize reimbursement and cost efficiencies o Disseminate regulatory information pertaining to changes in reimbursement and/or coding to ensure compliance with revenue integrity and maximizing opportunities
  • Work closely with Finance, BMG Leadership, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for reducing cost through analyses and workflow changes 

Citizenship and Innovation

 

  • Create a culture of service excellence focused on defining, understanding, and consistently satisfying the requirements of both internal and external customers 
  • Act as consultant to physicians to develop strategic clinical opportunities
  • Recommend establishment or revisions of clinical policies and develop organizational structure and standards of performance
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders across Beebe Healthcare to assure coordination of care o Participate and serve on committees, as assigned Service 
  • Assist Practice Managers to develop and implement action plans to improve service levels and exceed customer expectations 
  • Facilitate processes to improve and report patient satisfaction scores to stakeholders 
  • Ensure continuity of care for patients evaluated and treated by providers, including timely communication with patients and referring providers
  • Address escalated patient experience issues and serve as patient advocate Ad Hoc Responsibilities 
  • Provide support to BMG Directors and Practice Managers for clinical purchasing (i.e., pharmaceutical, lab supplies, med-surg supplies, furniture, clinical equipment, etc.) 
  • Work with Facilities, Materials Management, and appropriate vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-quality supplies are utilized. May act as liaison to outside vendors 
  • Support go-live of new practices with coordination of clinical training and education, patient flow logistics, supply ordering and validation, safety reporting, etc.

Qualifications:

Required 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field (i.e., management, operations, finance, business, strategy, nursing, or project management) 
  • Minimum 5 years nursing and/or healthcare management leadership experience 
  • Ambulatory work experience required 
  • Delaware RN license 

Preferences 

 

  • Urgent/Walk-in Care, Primary Care, Specialty Care, Outpatient Nursing experience
  • Master's Degree in Nursing 
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to multi-task and adapt to dynamic and fast-paced environment
