KCC is seeking a creative, strategic, and mission-minded Director of Marketing & Communications to lead the school's brand, messaging, and storytelling efforts. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent, compelling communication that supports enrollment, strengthens community engagement, and advances the mission of Kansas City Christian School.
The ideal candidate is a gifted communicator who enjoys building relationships, telling meaningful stories, and creating content that reflects the life and culture of the school. This individual will serve as the steward of the KCC brand and help communicate the impact of Christian education to current families, prospective families, alumni, donors, churches, and the broader community.
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with the school's mission and strategic priorities
Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms and materials
Oversee brand standards, logo usage, and overall school presentation
Develop and manage an annual communications calendar to support school initiatives, enrollment efforts, fundraising campaigns, and major events
Monitor and evaluate marketing effectiveness through analytics and reporting, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
Create and manage engaging content across digital and print platforms
Capture and share stories that highlight student life, faculty, events, athletics, and school impact
Partner with faculty and staff to identify and develop meaningful content opportunities
Coordinate photography and visual content that authentically reflects the KCC experience
Maintain a library of photos, videos, and marketing assets for future use
Manage and maintain the school's website, app, and social media platforms
Oversee social media strategy, content creation, posting, and engagement
Manage digital marketing efforts, including advertising campaigns as appropriate
Monitor website traffic, social media engagement, and campaign performance to evaluate effectiveness and inform future strategy
Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to support enrollment goals through marketing campaigns, promotional materials, presentations, and outreach content
Help attract mission-aligned families through compelling messaging and storytelling
Support admissions events through marketing and promotional efforts
Manage and optimize the school's presence on the Niche platform, utilizing available tools, analytics, and marketing opportunities to increase visibility and support enrollment growth
Oversee production of school publications, newsletters, handbooks, annual reports, and major announcements
Ensure clarity, consistency, and quality across all school communications
Partner with the Executive Assistant and administration to align messaging with leadership priorities
Assist leadership in developing and executing crisis, emergency, and sensitive communications as needed
Promote major school events through marketing and communication channels
Develop event-related content and promotional materials
Support visibility and engagement for school programs, athletics, and community initiatives
Foster positive relationships with churches, community partners, alumni, and local media outlets
Serve as an ambassador for the KCC brand within the broader community

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred
Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills
Strong organizational and project management abilities
Experience managing websites, social media platforms, and digital marketing campaigns
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design tools preferred
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a variety of stakeholders
