Director of Market Warehousing - Metronet

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Market Warehousing is responsible for overseeing, planning, and managing teams that support the Market Warehousing Supply Chain while ensuring a strong focus on continuous process improvement and operational efficiency. This role drives organizational alignment by identifying and effectively communicating customer needs and requirements across the business. The Director will lead the development, optimization, and coordination of warehousing and distribution operations across the growing Metronet supply footprint, ensuring consistency and scalability. Success in this position requires strong leadership, the ability to manage daily operations with precision, and a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy, reliability, and overall performance excellence.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee, plan, and manage Regional Managers and teams supporting Supply Chain and Warehousing operations, including supervisors and hourly employees across manufacturing, distribution, and office environments
  • Drive continuous improvement by optimizing processes, implementing strategic initiatives, and identifying operational efficiencies across market warehousing
  • Communicate supply chain performance, service issues, and short- and long-term solutions to senior leadership while collaborating cross-functionally to manage expectations
  • Maintain regular communication with direct reports using remote tools to stay informed on daily warehouse operations and resolve issues proactively
  • Analyze, resolve, or escalate supply chain and inventory issues to ensure accurate inventory levels and accountability across market warehouses, including remote personnel
  • Review budgets, expenditures, and operational performance across multiple locations and implement improvements as needed
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to support team growth and achievement of business goals
  • Develop, document, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Track performance metrics, analyze data, and implement improvements to drive operational excellence
  • Manage and optimize shipping costs, minimizing unnecessary transfers between facilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and OSHA requirements
  • Travel up to 50% to support Metronet warehouse operations and onsite teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a supply chain-related field or equivalent experience, with at least 10 years of proven success in logistics, inventory management, or supply chain leadership
  • Demonstrated record of successful distribution and logistics management, including leadership experience within warehouse operations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop both onsite and remote teams using positive reinforcement
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects independently and make decisions under pressure
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholder expectations and coach, develop, and correct team members as needed
  • Solid business and commercial acumen with experience reviewing operational performance and driving improvements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and significant experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Valid driver's license with a strong driving record

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Six Sigma or Lean experience/certification
  • Experience working in multicultural environments
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and environmental considerations
  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications equipment
