The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for building and leading the organization's manufacturing function, transforming advanced engineering designs into scalable, high-quality production operations. This role drives manufacturing strategy, industrialization, and operational execution while establishing the capabilities required to support commercialization and long-term growth in a highly technical environment.

Description

In this role you will report directly into Senior Leadership and will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing the overall manufacturing strategy, roadmap, and organizational structure
  • Building the manufacturing organization, including leadership team, staffing plans, and operational capabilities
  • Establishing production processes, workflows, and quality controls for advanced energy systems and engineered products
  • Leading the transition from engineering development to commercial production and scaling operations
  • Driving manufacturing performance across cost, quality, throughput, and delivery metrics
  • Developing and implementing manufacturing engineering capabilities, including design-for-manufacture and process optimization
  • Leading industrialization efforts, including tooling, automation, and production system development
  • Overseeing factory planning, facility development, equipment installation, and operational readiness
  • Partnering with engineering, supply chain, quality, and program management teams to ensure manufacturability and production success
  • Building long-term manufacturing capabilities to support future reactor components and advanced fuel production operations

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related technical discipline
  • 15+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including building and scaling organizations
  • Proven experience transitioning complex products from development into production
  • Strong expertise in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, and operational excellence
  • Experience establishing production facilities, systems, and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in complex technical environments
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic execution capabilities
  • Experience in advanced manufacturing, energy, aerospace, nuclear, or similarly regulated industries preferred
