Overview

In this crucial leadership role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of maintenance operations across state-of-the-art cold storage warehouses, covering a total of 280,000 square feet. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery, infrastructure, and systems run safely and efficiently, with a specific focus on complex refrigeration systems that utilize both ammonia and Freon. Leading a skilled team of technicians, you will prioritize minimal downtime and stringent regulatory compliance.

Main Duties

  • Direct and supervise maintenance efforts across multiple properties within a 50-mile radius, implementing effective preventive and predictive strategies.
  • Guarantee optimal function and uptime of all building systems, including critical forklifts and essential material handling equipment.
  • Champion the operational and regulatory success of refrigeration systems, ensuring adherence to all pertinent OSHA, EPA, and safety guidelines.
  • Foster the growth and compliance of a maintenance team, enhancing their safety protocols and certification levels.
  • Supervise the upkeep, upgrades, and capital projects associated with building utilities and structural integrity.
  • Administer preventative maintenance and corrective action plans for all industrial trucks and forklifts.
  • Manage financial resources to ensure budget adherence and cost control, including negotiations for parts and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and federal safety regulations while maintaining safety audits and incident evaluations.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5-10 years of proven leadership experience in maintenance, preferably in industrial settings or food manufacturing.
  • In-depth expertise in ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems, with a solid understanding of safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with a history of managing multifacility operations.
  • Proficient in using preventive maintenance software systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations and safety protocols.
  • Expertise in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC repair and maintenance.

Education and Professional Credentials

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED; technical degrees or certifications are favored.
  • Preferred certification in RETA (CARO/CIRO) or similar qualifications.
  • OSHA safety certifications are advantageous.

Environment

  • Work within varying conditions, from -10°F in storage areas to regular refrigerated environments, requiring a blend of office and manual labor.
  • Be prepared for on-call duties for emergency situations.
