Position Summary:
The Director of Logistics is responsible for leading and optimizing all transportation and shipping operations to ensure cost efficiency, service reliability, and operational excellence. This role partners closely with Operations, Finance, IT, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to drive strategic initiatives, improve performance, and enhance logistics systems. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong analytical capabilities, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Job Duties:
- Partner with internal logistics leadership, 3PL providers, and carriers to ensure the best shipping rates possible.
- Evaluate shipments for accuracy regarding shipment, rating, billing, and other key characteristics.
- Evaluate shipments, flag those that do not meet established thresholds, and review them with internal executive leadership.
- Evaluate opportunities to systemically improve shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop performance and operational reports for executive and divisional leadership.
- Make data-driven recommendations for and implement process improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field required.
10+ years of progressive experience in logistics or supply chain management.
Experience with international shipping and import processes preferred.
