We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Director of Laboratory to lead our laboratory services with purpose, expertise, and a commitment to exceptional patient care. In this high‑impact leadership role, you will guide the department's strategic direction, oversee daily operations, and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

How you'll contribute

As the Director, you will develop and implement departmental goals and standards that align with organizational, clinical, and ethical expectations. You will oversee all aspects of laboratory operations-from patient testing quality and workflow efficiency to technology utilization and service levels. A key part of your role will be building and supporting a strong team through effective hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and ongoing professional development.

You will manage departmental budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure responsible use of resources. You will also coordinate internal and external audits, maintain regulatory readiness, and uphold compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare standards. This position requires frequent interaction with internal staff, clinicians, patients, vendors, and external partners, and involves handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Your leadership will shape a culture that values evidence‑based practice, continuous improvement, and professional growth. You will be expected to exercise independent judgment, make informed decisions that impact departmental operations, and contribute to broader organizational initiatives. The role also requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delegate effectively, and maintain clear communication in complex or sensitive situations.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; preferred

  • Equivalent experience may be considered

  • ASCP or AMT certification; preferred
