Director of Laboratory Operations
Location: Cary, NC (On-site)

About the Role:
Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with clinical reference laboratory who is a leader in precision medicine, to hire a Director of Laboratory Operations. This role will oversee a CLIA-certified laboratory, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient operations while supporting innovative immuno-oncology diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop laboratory staff, including supervisors and technologists
• Oversee daily lab operations: specimen processing, testing, analysis, and reporting
• Ensure compliance with CLIA and quality systems
• Manage QC/QA programs, proficiency testing, and inspection readiness
• Monitor workflow, staffing, and turnaround times to drive efficiency
• Provide hands-on lab support as needed
• Lead issue resolution, CAPA processes, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate cross-functionally on lab scaling and new product initiatives

Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in Life Sciences
• 5+ years in a high-complexity molecular clinical laboratory
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of CLIA and laboratory quality systems
• Experience with automated assays (proteomics/microarray a plus)

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $100,000 – $140,000 (commensurate with experience)
