Employment Status: Full-Time, Benefits Eligible
Location: On-Site at Gymreapers’ HQ in Nampa, ID (20 mins outside of Boise, ID)
Reports To: TBD
Position Overview:
This is a builder's role. Gymreapers is scaling fast, and we need someone who wants to create the systems, controls, and processes that will carry this company through its next phase of growth, not just maintain what's already there. You'll have real ownership over how technology gets built and run here, with the latitude to shape it from the ground up.
The Director of IT leads technology operations at a senior level, managing infrastructure, systems, vendors, and security for the entire company. You'll define where IT needs to go, set the policies and controls that don't exist yet, and own the budget and roadmap that gets us there. You'll also partner closely with some genuinely excellent people across the business, Product, eCommerce, Operations, Finance, and more, who move fast and expect the same from the people they work with.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role. You'll think in roadmaps and long-term architecture, but you'll also be close enough to the systems and the team to execute when it matters. If you're energized by building something from a lean foundation, and by partnering with sharp, high-ownership people to get it right, this role was built for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership
- Define the IT vision and roadmap, aligned to company growth and goals
- Own IT budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships (hardware, software licensing, telecom, managed services)
- Build and lead the IT function as the company scales, including hiring, mentoring, and developing team members
- Support executive leadership with technical guidance and reporting
- Represent IT in cross-functional and leadership discussions
Infrastructure & Systems
- Own network and systems administration across the company, on-premise and cloud
- Manage company systems including Google Workspace, Windows Server platforms, Mac OS, Shopify, and NetSuite (ERP)
- Lead system integrations across ERP, ecommerce, HRIS, and ATS platforms
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new systems, applications, and hardware as the business scales
- Own disaster recovery, backup solutions, and business continuity planning
Security & Compliance
- Own security compliance, risk management, and data protection across the org
- Oversee monitoring of server and firewall logs, network traffic, virus scanning, and vulnerability response
- Conduct user activity audits and manage account access, including onboarding/offboarding technology workflows in partnership with the People team
- Create and maintain IT policies, SOPs, and training for the broader team
Operations & Support
- Oversee hardware and software support, inventory, deployments, and troubleshooting
- Serve as the escalation point for end user technical issues, ensuring fast resolution and minimal downtime
- Own key IT projects and implementations from planning through execution
What You'll Bring
10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role- Experience building an IT function from a lean starting point, not just running an established one
- Proven ability to lead IT strategy and organizational change
- Hands-on experience with Google Workspace administration, Windows Server platforms, and Mac OS
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite a strong plus) and ecommerce platforms (Shopify a plus)
- Strong track record managing budgets, vendor contracts, and cross-functional priorities
- Knowledge of compliance, data protection, and IT governance fundamentals
- Experience leading incident management, security response, and disaster recovery planning
- Comfortable working directly with founder/executive-level stakeholders in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Ability to think strategically while also rolling up your sleeves and executing hands-on when needed
