Title: Director of Information TechnologyReporting to: Director of People OperationsDirect Reports:Currently manage outsourced vendors; possible future direct reportsSummary:The Director of IT will oversee the technical operations of the construction business,ensuring all systems and applications support our field and office goals. This role isresponsible for the "boots on the ground" management of hardware, security, and internalsoftware, while acting as the primary liaison with our external help desk (Athens Micro).Key Responsibilities:1. Vendor & Help Desk Management• Act as the primary point of contact for Managed Service Provider, reviewinghelp desk tickets to identify recurring technical issues or training gaps.• Evaluate and select technology vendors, managing relationships andnegotiating contracts to ensure high-quality service delivery.2. Asset & Budget Oversight• Verify that all hardware and equipment purchases are technically sound andsuited for specific construction environments.• Implement a robust asset tracking system for all company hardware andsoftware licenses.• Develop and monitor the annual IT budget, tracking expenditures andidentifying cost-saving opportunities3. Security & Compliance• Assess security threats and maintain robust measures to protect sensitivecompany and project data.• Lead CMMC certification efforts and ensure compliance with Federal, DOD,and DOE standards.• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends and evaluate theirpotential for improving operational efficiency.4. Information Technology & Systems• Establish and enforce SOPs to streamline technical operations and ensureconsistent performance.• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and lead resolutionefforts to minimize downtime and disruptions.• Field Connectivity: Ensure superintendents and field crews have reliabledata access on-site, including the deployment and maintenance of mobilehotspots and ruggedized hardware.• Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and troubleshootconnectivity issues to minimize downtime for field operations.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define operational metrics, trackperformance, and implement improvements as needed.
