We are seeking a Director of IT Manufacturing Transformation to partner closely with the Business Operations and Manufacturing leadership to drive end-to-end transformation across manufacturing operations using technology, data, and digital solutions.

This is not a traditional IT role. The position is focused on leveraging IT as a strategic enabler to improve plant performance, quality, compliance, and operational efficiency in a highly regulated biopharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

=9 Manufacturing Transformation Leadership

  • Lead and execute digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations
  • Identify and drive improvements in:
    • Throughput and cycle time
    • Quality and deviation reduction
    • Cost optimization and efficiency
  • Translate business challenges into technology-enabled solutions

=9 Manufacturing Systems & IT Ownership

  • Oversee IT strategy and delivery for:
    • MES platforms (e.g., Client-X or similar)
    • Shop floor systems and integrations (PLC/SCADA interfaces)
    • Quality systems (LIMS, QMS)
  • Ensure seamless integration with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP S/4HANA)

=9 Data, Analytics & Digital Enablement

  • Drive adoption of data-driven manufacturing practices
  • Implement and scale:
    • Real-time dashboards and plant analytics
    • Advanced analytics / predictive insights
    • Automation and digital workflows
  • Partner with data and engineering teams to build scalable solutions

=9 Compliance & Validation

  • Ensure systems and processes meet regulatory requirements including:
    • GxP
    • 21 CFR Part 11
  • Lead Computer System Validation (CSV) and audit readiness initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality and compliance frameworks

=9 Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a strategic partner to:
    • Manufacturing leadership
    • Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams
  • Influence decision-making at senior leadership levels
  • Align IT initiatives with broader business and operational goals

=9 Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional IT and digital teams
  • Manage external vendors, system integrators, and partners
  • Own delivery of complex, high-impact programs end-to-end

Required Qualifications

  • 12 18+ years of experience in IT, with strong focus on:
    • Manufacturing / plant systems
    • Pharma, biotech, or life sciences industries
  • Proven experience with:
    • MES platforms (Client-X or equivalent)
    • GxP-regulated environments
    • Computer System Validation (CSV)
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale transformation or digital initiatives
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and business drivers
