Summary:
The University of Colorado Boulder, in partnership with WittKieffer, seeks a strategic, globally minded leader to serve as its next Director of International Admissions. This individual will play a pivotal role in advancing the University's global enrollment efforts, driving the vision and execution of innovative international recruitment, admissions, and enrollment practices at a moment of continued institutional growth and global engagement.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Admission and Precollege, and in close collaboration with the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, the Director of International Admissions leads a mission-critical function shaping a modern, data-driven approach to global enrollment. This leader will develop and execute a comprehensive international recruitment strategy, oversee admissions operations and credential evaluation, and drive improved yield and enrollment outcomes through analytics, operational systems, and market intelligence. They will also expand CU Boulder's presence in key global markets, strengthen strategic partnerships, and elevate the University's international profile. A visible and influential leader, the Director will represent CU Boulder externally while building and leading a high-performing team internally, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

The recent appointment of a Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs and ongoing development of a comprehensive international strategy reflect the University's commitment to positioning itself as a globally engaged public research institution. CU Boulder is the leading destination in Colorado for international students, enrolling approximately 38,800 students overall, including a vibrant international community representing about 100 countries. International students comprise roughly six percent of the student population, with two-thirds enrolled in graduate and professional programs. Key sending countries include Canada, Spain, India, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, China, South Korea, and Brazil. CU Boulder also demonstrates a strong commitment to global mobility, ranking among the top U.S. institutions for study abroad participation, with more than 2,500 students earning academic credit through study abroad programs annually.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic and forward-thinking leader with a demonstrated record of success in international admissions, global recruitment strategy, and team leadership within a complex organization. They will bring deep knowledge of global higher education markets, strong analytical and operational acumen, and a commitment to student-centered practices. Ultimately, the Director will serve as a trusted partner and influential leader who advances CU Boulder's global ambitions and strengthens its position as a destination of choice for international students. The successful candidate will bring a bachelor's degree and at least six years of progressive leadership experience in collegiate admissions, with demonstrated expertise in international recruitment, application review, and credential evaluation. They will have a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, translate strategy into measurable outcomes, and manage budgets, operations, and staff effectively. Strong judgment, executive communication skills, and cultural fluency are essential, along with experience using Slate or comparable admissions systems. The role requires the ability to travel, including holding or obtaining a passport. Preferred candidates will have 10 or more years of relevant experience, including significant leadership responsibility within admissions or a related higher education function, with a record of increasing scope and impact.

CU Boulder will offer an annual salary range of $135,000-$150,000 for this role, commensurate with experience. A relocation allowance and bonus may be available in accordance with department guidelines.
