Director of Internal AuditThe Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) seeks an experienced leader to manage the Internal Audit Division. This role will align with the agency's mission of quality health‑care coverage and core values of service, collaboration, trust, problem solving, and adaptability.ResponsibilitiesManage the Internal Audit Division in accordance with the internal audit charter and IIA Global Internal Audit Standards.Engage in strategic planning, resource acquisition and deployment, relationship building, stakeholder communication, and performance enhancement.Attend in‑person training, meetings, and collaboration sessions with DMAS stakeholders as required.Coordinate external audits and ensure coordination with internal and external stakeholders.Maintain a quality assurance and improvement program and develop risk‑based internal audit plans.Provide leadership, guidance, and recruitment support for the audit staff.Minimum QualificationsSubstantial experience managing an internal audit division.Extensive experience with auditing frameworks.Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs.Knowledge of leadership techniques, principles, and procedures.Experience developing risk‑based internal audit plans.Experience coordinating external audits.Knowledge and experience of personnel recruitment and selection.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Experience analyzing, interpreting and applying federal and state laws and regulations.Strong analytical and deadline‑meeting skills.Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.Additional ConsiderationsKnowledge and experience of state government functions.Certification as CIA, CISA, CFE, or CPA.Additional InformationTelework may be permitted at the discretion of the agency but can be rescinded.
