Position Summary/Objective

We are seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Director of Human Resources to lead and evolve our people strategy as TBO Bank continues to grow as a digital-forward financial institution. This role will serve as a key advisor to executive leadership, driving initiatives that support our expansion across traditional community banking, fintech partnerships, Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), payments, and digital lending. The Director of HR will align talent, culture, and organizational design with business strategy. This leader will scale the organization and drive a unified culture across traditional and digital teams.

Essential Functions

  • Lead HR operations including compensation, benefits, and performance management
  • Develop HR strategy aligned with digital banking, fintech, payments, and lending growth
  • Build hiring strategies for tech (engineering, product), BaaS, payments, digital, and traditional banking
  • Drive culture across all areas of the bank
  • Oversee recruitment, employer branding, and talent pipelines
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and banking regulations
  • Support audits, regulatory exams, and board reporting
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning and talent strategy

Experience and Qualifications

  • 8+ years HR leadership experience in banking, fintech, or financial services
  • Experience in digital, payments, lending, or BaaS environments preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment law in regulated industries
  • Experience building talent strategies across technical and business roles
  • Proven ability to partner with executive leadership
  • HR certifications (SHRM, SPHR) preferred

Physical Requirements**

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.
  • You must be able to use a computer and other office equipment (e.g., phone, printer).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and through written correspondence.
  • Ability to concentrate and focus on tasks for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
