The Director of Human Resources is the senior HR leader for EcoWater North America and a key partner to the President and leadership team. This role is responsible for aligning the company's people, leadership, and organizational structure with business priorities. The Director leads the overall HR approach across the company, providing guidance on leadership effectiveness, talent decisions, and organizational design while ensuring strong day-to-day execution through site HR teams and shared services. This role focuses on building leadership capability, strengthening succession readiness, and supporting the company through growth, change, and integration efforts.
Overall Responsibilities
Human Resources Leadership & Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary HR partner to the President and leadership team, advising on organizational structure, leadership effectiveness, and key business decisions.
- Regularly engage senior leaders to assess organizational health, team performance, and emerging people risks.
- Coach leaders on performance management, team dynamics, and leadership behaviors.
- Act as the escalation point for complex employee relations matters, including investigations, performance issues, and sensitive leadership situations.
- Guide site HR on employee relations, ensuring consistent judgment and application of policy.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and EcoWater and Marmon HR policies; partner with legal as needed to manage risk and resolve issues appropriately.
Business Partnership, Talent & Organizational Capabilities
- Lead the company's talent strategy to align talent capability with business priorities.
Partner on hiring for key roles, including role design, candidate selection, and final decisions.
- Lead talent reviews and succession planning with leadership, identifying risk, readiness, and development priorities.
- Ensure development plans for key talent are actionable, aligned to business needs, and owned by leaders.
- Strengthen hiring and onboarding practices to improve leadership quality, bench strength, and retention.
- Partner with leaders and HR to implement training and development initiatives that address capability gaps and support succession.
- Build external talent pipelines to support critical roles and long-term needs.
HR Operations & Organizational Effectiveness
- Set HR priorities and operating approach aligned with company goals and Marmon expectations.
- Provide direction to site HR, ensuring clarity in roles, priorities, and execution expectations.
- Partner with Marmon Water and HR Centers of Excellence to execute compensation planning, benefits processes, and core HR programs effectively.
- Oversee key annual processes, including performance management, compensation planning, and benefits enrollment.
- Monitor engagement, retention, and organizational trends, and partner with leaders to drive targeted actions.
- Support communication and change efforts, including town halls, leadership messaging, and organizational updates.
- Lead organizational changes and integration efforts, ensuring alignment in roles, processes, and accountability.
- Identify and implement improvements in HR processes and operating practices to enhance leader effectiveness and employee experience.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior‑level HR leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience partnering directly with senior executives and leadership teams on organization design, leadership effectiveness, and people strategy.
- Strong background in succession planning, talent assessment, and leadership development for senior and business‑critical roles.
- Experience leading and developing HR team in a multi‑site, multi-state manufacturing or comparable environment.
- Experience operating in a decentralized organization supported by enterprise or shared‑services infrastructure.
- Proven ability to influence leaders and drive alignment without relying on formal authority.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully yet firmly, to be assertive without being adversarial and to take unpopular positions when necessary while maintaining trust and credibility
- Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization, with an ability to inspire trust and confidence with stakeholders at all levels with professionalism and integrity
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including excellent presentation skills with ability to deliver messages tailored to the audience
- Demonstrated strategic and tactical ability to drive change initiatives, and proven project management experience.
- Excellent organizational, follow-up, analytical and problem- solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Preferred
- Professional human resources certification and/or Master degree in related field
- Experience in a multi‑site, multi-state manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting organizational change or integration.
- Working knowledge of Workday HCM System
Working Conditions
Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours but will vary according to special projects, deadlines or other concerns. Travel expected at approximately 25%, primarily domestic.

Pay Range:
128,000.00 - 192,000.00
