Position Overview:

Our Director of Human Resources provides strategic and operational leadership to drive talent management, organizational development, and workforce planning. This role supports a workforce of approximately 200 employees and leads a team responsible for delivering company-wide HR programs to ensure all HR initiatives advance Namaste Solar's Mission, Core Values, and employee-owned culture.

Essential Functions:

Strategic and HR Team Leadership

  • Partner with Company Circle Leadership Team to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals, culture, and employee-owner principles.
  • Lead, or support, organizational change initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to Team Leads on workforce planning, employee development, performance improvement, and change management.
  • Lead and support growth opportunities for the HR team; oversee development and implementation of core HR programs related to employee relations, engagement, performance management, benefits, payroll, and other HR related responsibilities.
  • Facilitate company-wide learning and development efforts to help support company priorities, and ensure HR programs reinforce ownership mindset and engagement.
  • Responsible for annual team budget creation and annual maintenance.
  • Participate in B-Corp certification process, with progressive ownership being established within the first year of employment.
  • Partner with Safety and Fleet to align people practices, policies, and workforce initiatives that support a strong safety culture.

HR Operations and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and drive company-wide talent management strategies, including a recruitment strategy that focuses on building diverse high-performing teams.
  • Develop and maintain competitive compensation and benefits strategies aligned with market benchmarks.
  • Partner with Team Leads on annual and semi-annual compensation reviews, with a heightened focus on rewarding performance.
  • Oversee HRIS strategy, optimization, and data integrity.
  • Leverage HR data and analytics to maintain HR related KPIs with the intent to inform decision-making on retention, engagement, and workforce trends.
  • Lead employee engagement and retention initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive culture.
  • Oversee complex employee relations matters, including investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and proactively mitigate risk through proactive policies, training, and coaching.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging HR practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including team management.
  • Experience influencing, coaching, and partnering with Team Leads (people managers), as well as Senior Leadership teams.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to craft effective internal communications as well as lead training session for varying employee and manager groups.
  • Advocate for justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR/SPHR certification
  • Experience in construction, solar, and/or employee-owned/cooperative environments

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and to move about the work environment as needed to perform job duties. The role frequently involves operating a computer and other standard office equipment, and positioning oneself to access tools, materials, and information. The ability to exchange accurate information with others is required.

The position may occasionally require moving or transporting items weighing up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include the ability to review and interpret information on a computer screen and in written materials.
