    Position Information

    Working Title Director of Health Careers Position Status Full Time Department Continuing Education General Summary

    The Continuing Education Director of Health Careers provides leadership in executing the Department's Strategic Vision and is responsible for expanding OC's enrollment, certifications, and market penetration, in health careers in Odessa and the Permian Basin communities we serve.

    Specific Position Duties

    Strategic Responsibilities

    Provides administrative leadership in executing OC's near-term and long-term strategies for growing and expanding OC's presence in the Odessa and Permian Basin health career markets we serve.

    Leadership and Scope of Responsibilities

    Provide leadership direction and support as necessary and appropriate to all full-time and part-time staff who participate in CE's health career training/education programs.

    Performance Accountability

    In collaboration with OC's Institutional Effectiveness department, maintain, improve, or develop outcome measures/metrics as necessary to assess progress in:

    • Market penetration
    • Enrollment
    • Revenue
    • Net financial performance
    • Student and Customer satisfaction

    In partnership with Institutional Effectiveness, provide, as requested, to CE and OC leadership appropriate and timely reports on progress related to the above metrics.

    Operational Responsibilities

    Provide operational oversight and management direction as needed to ensure high quality and timely execution of the following:

    • Budget development and financial management
    • Personnel administration
    • Instructor recruitment, development and training
    • Facilities utilization for teaching, meetings, equipment storage
    • Scheduling
    • Risk management
    • Policy implementation
    • Regulatory compliance
    • Other duties as assigned

    Travel

    • Odessa College has several regional sites in the Permian Basin with on-going Health Career Continuing Education programs and others under discussion. Continuing Education Directors are expected to visit such sites as needed to maintain and grow programs under their direction.
    • Travel after hours and for weekend functions are required from time-to-time.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Associate Degree in a healthcare related field Work experience in healthcare or in higher education healthcare programs

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education, healthcare administration, business administration, allied health professional, or a closely related field.
    • Demonstrated success developing new markets, expanding organizational reach, increasing customer engagement, or growing educational, healthcare, or business services through strategic partnerships, and data-informed decision-making.
    • Experience using data to guide decisions
    • Demonstrated success leading organizational change or growth
    • Experience managing budgets
    • Strong communication and relation-building skills
    • Experience developing partnerships with healthcare organizations/providers

    Annual Salary Hiring range Work Hours Typically Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Summer hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, closed Fridays. Numerous after-hours and weekend functions are required of the position.
