POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Integrator, the Director of Growth is a senior commercial leader responsible for driving organizational growth through B2B sales, contract pursuit, client retention, and revenue operations. This leader builds the commercial infrastructure, develops relationships with municipal and commercial clients, and leads a high-performing growth team to increase COR’s market share as a waste and recycling provider across the Portland metro area and beyond. This role requires direct experience in environmental services, waste hauling, recycling, or adjacent industrial sectors.

 

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AT COR

       In Year 1, the Director of Growth will:

  • Grow the commercial account portfolio by a minimum of 15 new contracted accounts.
  • Achieve a contract renewal rate of 90% or above for existing accounts.
  • Build and launch at least 2 structured outbound B2B campaigns targeting priority segments.
  • Respond to and submit proposals for 100% of targeted municipal RFPs.
  • Establish a functioning HubSpot CRM pipeline with full team adoption.
  • Develop a 12-month growth roadmap aligned to COR’s 3-Year Picture.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      People Leadership

  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the Data & Analytics Manager, Sales Development Representative, Account Manager and outsourced vendors/contractors (EOS LMA model).

Commercial Growth & Contract Pursuit

  • Own the full commercial growth pipeline - from Go/No-Go decisions on new contracts to post-award onboarding hand-off to operations.
  • Manage the municipal RFP calendar; lead proposal development and submission for all target contracts.
  • Respond to RFPs and grants; lead development and submission of contracts.

      Client Retention & Account Expansion

  • Drive client retention and expansion, proactive outreach on renewals, upselling routes, and adding services (recycling, bulky item, post-collection) to existing accounts.
  • Engages directly with both new potential customers and existing customers and helps bring new revenue opportunities across the finish line.

       Strategy & Market Intelligence

  • Develop strategies for lead generation and implement through technology, people, and partners.
  • Identify market trends, competitor pricing, and service gaps to develop strategies that increase revenue and market share.
  • Propose and develop pricing strategies in collaboration with CEO and Integrator.

       Brand, Marketing & Digital

  • Create and oversee branding, content, messaging, and campaign strategies.
  • Lead website, social media, digital advertising, and email marketing.

       Revenue Operations & Technology

  • Optimize sales enablement technology (HubSpot); develop KPIs, provide data insights to leadership, and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Lay out the key steps in the customer journey, create workflows and processes that streamline operations, and determine KPIs to measure success.

       Special Projects

  • Collaborate with CEO and VP on special projects that support COR’s growth strategy, including the COR Campus initiative.

REQUIRED & DESIRED EXPERIENCE

       Required:

  • 7–10 years of progressive B2B sales or growth leadership experience.
  • 3–5 years in a leadership role with P&L or revenue target accountability.
  • Direct experience in environmental services, waste hauling, recycling, or adjacent industrial sectors (utilities, logistics, facilities management, sustainability).
  • Demonstrated success winning and managing B2B contracts with municipal or commercial clients.
  • Experience building and leading sales enablement systems and processes.

       Preferred:

  • HubSpot CRM experience or equivalent platform.
  • Familiarity with the Oregon/Pacific Northwest waste, recycling, or environmental services market.
  • Experience with RFP response processes for government or institutional clients.

 

PHYSICAL, DRIVING, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Will travel to client sites, networking meetings, and industry events around the Portland metro. Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
